Marine Biology Scholarship
Eligibility:
Junior or Senior currently enrolled in the Zoology program at SIUC.
Minimum GPA 3.0
Completed or currently enrolled in Zoology 385, Introduction to Marine Biology.
Award:
Up to $3000 applied towards tuition, room, and board for attending a credit-generating field course taken at Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL) the summer following the award.
To Apply:
- Complete an SIU General Scholarship Application through the financial aid office
- Send a resume or cv, unofficial transcript, and letter of interest (2 pages maximum) describing academic and career goals including a description of how taking one or more courses at GCRL would advance those goals to:

Electronic submission preferred. Submit application by March 1. Applications will be judged by a committee of Zoology faculty based on academic performance in courses including Zoology 385, extracurricular activity, and the suitability of a GCRL field course for the student’s academic and professional goals. Award will be announced by April 1 and will be paid directly to GCRL to offset expenses for enrolling in a summer course.
