The laboratory is equipped to perform a wide variety of molecular genetic techniques including DNA Microsatellite analysis, Single Nucleotide Polymorphism genotyping, and Sanger DNA sequencing. We can also prepare libraries for high throughput DNA sequencing including libraries for ddRAD, RNA-Seq, and Targeted Capture. We are in the process of acquiring an Illumina MiSeq for in-house genomics capabilities. Analysis is done in house using CLC genomics workbench on an in house cluster or Big Dog, SIUC’s high performance computing cluster.
